Mild steel is the everyday name for low-carbon steel (carbon content typically below 0.25%). A mild steel flange is a carbon steel flange made from this material. In international trade it is normally specified and certified under ASTM A105 / ASME SA105, which is the standard forged carbon steel flange material.
Is mild steel the same as carbon steel?
Mild steel is one grade family of carbon steel. For piping flanges, when a buyer says mild steel flange, the matching certified material is ASTM A105. If your drawing simply says mild steel, we quote A105 and note it clearly on the material test certificate.
What sizes and pressure classes can you supply?
Mild steel (A105) flanges from NPS 1/2 to NPS 48, weld neck, slip on, blind, socket weld, threaded and lap joint types, pressure class 150 to 2500, raised face, flat face or ring type joint.
