Description
A234 WPB is the standard carbon steel fitting material for seamless and welded butt-weld fittings — WPB stands for weldable, pressure applications, grade B. Every fitting ships with an EN 10204 3.1 material test certificate traceable to the heat number stamped on the piece. What is the difference between an equal tee and a reducing tee?
An equal tee has all three outlets the same size; a reducing tee has a smaller branch outlet. Reducing tees are ordered by run size x run size x branch size, for example 6 x 6 x 3 inch.
Are WPB tees seamless or welded?
Seamless tees are standard up to NPS 24; larger sizes are welded. Both are produced from A234 WPB material to ASME B16.9 and certified to EN 10204 3.1.
How is the tee marked?
Standard marking includes the manufacturer’s identification, material grade (A234 WPB), size, schedule and heat number. Marking is by steel stamp, laser engraving or paint stencil per your preference.
What documents ship with a WPB tee order?
EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTC traceable to the heat number, packing list, commercial invoice and certificate of origin. Third-party inspection can be arranged before dispatch.
